The official name of our school is Gimnazjum nr 6. We are a lower secondary school for students aged between 13 and 16. According to the Polish educational system, the school is compulsory.

The school is situated in Zielona Góra in the city centre. Zielona Góra is a city in western Poland, with 117,557 inhabitants. The city’s name, in both Polish, Czech, and German, means „green mountain”. It is located in the heart of Europe not far from the capital cities of Germany (Berlin – 150 km) , Czech Republic (Prague – 300km) and Poland (Warsaw – 450km).

There are about 800 students and 60 teachers in our school. The students are divided into three grades (the first, the second and the third) with seven classes in each grade. In each class there are about 28 students. Compulsory subjects studied at our school include:

  • Polish language
  • Mathematics
  • History
  • Geography
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • German
  • English
  • French
  • Art
  • Music
  • PE
  • ICT
  • Citizenship

Apart from the subjects covering all areas of the curriculum, the students have the possibility to develop their interests by participating in a diverse number of extracurricular classes which include both academic and non academic subjects. The students can take part in drama classes, choir, dance classes and a variety of clubs which run throughout the week (Chemistry, Physics, mathematics etc.). Additionally, the PE department offers an extensive extracurricular programme in a number of sporting activities ranging from volleyball to basketball, unihockey, climbing, sailing and more.

What is more, the school is very active in charity work and students can get involved in it through the participation in the actions organized by “Little Prince Club” which is responsible for fund raising activities for people in need. Currently, our school is taking part in several national educational projects. Being aware of the fact that young people need to learn to understand cultures other than their own, we would like to start the cooperation with other schools from Europe. Such a cooperation would give us the possibility to acquire the knowledge of customs, traditions and everyday lives of European nations. Another advantage of it would be the opportunity to explore different educational systems and the way they function which has always been the point of our interest. Last but not least, it would enable our students a frank exchange of views on different topics. So, why wait?

Please contact us ff you are interested in cooperation.
